Filipa Poêjo, director

Founded in 2003, under the musical direction of Filipa Poêjo, the Orchestra Os Violinhos performs regularly in the main venues of Lisbon and Oporto: National Theatre of São Carlos, Gulbenkian Foundation, Belém Cultural Center, Casa da Música, Teatro São Luiz. This orchestra has performed hundreds of concerts in Portugal mainland and in the Azores, and in countries such as Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States. Two of its international tours were awarded with the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic. Assuming itself as a training orchestra, with a pedagogical character, the Orchestra Os Violinhos also has artistic objectives and plays an important role of cultural decentralization and social responsibility, through the performance of concerts in schools or hospitals, and associating with fundraising campaigns.
