Quarteto Tágide
(Portugal)

Tágide Quartet is a Portuguese-Mozambican string quartet founded in 2022, in Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. Its members are Vicente Sobral and Ana Sofia Faria (violins), Raquel Agostinho (viola), and Inérzio Macome (cello). Under the regular guidance of Irene Lima, the quartet has also received mentorship from Andrew Atkinson, Catherine Strynckx, Evan Rothstein, Levon Mouradian, Meagan Milatz, Mihai Cochea, Oyvor Volle, Paul Wakabayashi, Samuel Barsegian, Tiago Neto, and Varoujan Bartikian, as well as from the Sonoro Quartet, a rising star of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO). The ensemble is dedicated to exploring the richness of both national and international string quartet repertoire while fostering a closer connection between chamber music and younger audiences. They have shared their experiences with students at the Instituto Gregoriano de Lisboa and the Academia de Música de Santa Cecília. The Tágide Quartet has performed on various stages across Portugal, including the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, Casa da Música, Festival Estoril Lisboa, MusicEd ESML-IPL, and as representatives of the Orquestra Sem Fronteiras. In 2024, they presented their work at the Vianna da Motta Auditorium as part of the Antena 2 / PortugalSom Concert Series, in partnership with the Portugal GDA and ESML. In 2024, the quartet was awarded at the 1st National Chamber Music Competition of Montijo and received First Prize at the 37th edition of the Prémio Jovens Músicos. In 2025, they will perform in Casa da Música, Cistermúsica, Festival Estoril Lisboa, Lisbon Music Fest, as well as take part in Verão Clássico Festival.
